When Josh Hester took the mound for the FHU Lion baseball team; everyone took notice, including Major League scouts. In 2008, following an exceptional career with the Lions, Hester was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 17th round, the highest in FHU program history.

"Josh is the ideal person for FHU's Hall of Fame,” said Patrick McCarthy, Hester’s head coach during his playing career at FHU. “He was one of the best pitchers I've ever coached, but more importantly he has become a truly great husband and father. He is exactly the type of player every coach dreams of having, both on and off the field."
