As a Lion

Leslie “Tiensvold” Hiatt will go down as one of the greatest offensive players to put on a Lady Lion soccer jersey, as she led the Lady Lions her entire college career with offensive prowess. At the time of her induction, she led the Lady Lions in six offensive categories including career goals (33), career assists (18), career points per game (1.48), goals per game (0.61), assists per game (0.33) and shots on goal (128).

“Leslie was a tremendous player for the Lady Lion soccer program,” said Jason Elliott head coach for the FHU soccer programs. “She was a natural scorer who had a knack for finding the back of the net. Her ability to score in multiple ways impacted our program from the day she arrived. She was an unselfish player and a great teammate in addition to being a wonderful student.”

After Graduation

Following graduation from Freed-Hardeman in 2006, Tiensvold attended graduate school at Vanderbilt University, where she completed her PhD in 2011. At the time of her induction, Tiensvold was employed as an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Austin Peay State University, where she teaches all levels of Chemistry at the undergraduate level.

Leslie is married to Matthew Hiatt, whom she met through the Honors Program at Freed-Hardeman. They have been married since 2006 and have two children: Caleb and Katie. They currently reside in White Bluff, Tenn.
