BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.) Sophie Dunavant and Thomas More's (Ky.) Annika Gels are the Mid-South Conference Softball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

MSC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Annika Gels – Thomas More (Ky.) – Sr. – Pitcher – Eaton, Ohio

• Gels pitched two shutouts while allowing just two hits in 14 innings.
• She allowed just one hit, three walks and struck out five in a 2-0 victory over No. 23 Campbellsville.
• Gels then allowed one hits, no walks and struck out seven in a 4-0 win against Georgetown.
• She earns weekly honors for the first time this season and in her career.

MSC Softball Player of the Week

Sophie Dunavant – Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) – 5th – Catcher – Bolivar, Tenn.

• Dunavant batted .471 (8-of-17) in five games for the Lions.
• She had multiple hits in three of the five games.
• Dunavant drove in nine over the five games and hit a home run.
• She tallied three extra-base hits.
• Dunavant earns weekly honors for the first time this season and in her career.
