CSC votes Catherine Crabb, Chloe Winters as Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Catherine Crabb and Chloe Winters have been nominated for and voted to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for their abilities on and off the softball diamond.

The first step on the road to the Academic All-America team, the Academic All-District team recognizes student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

"The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom," according to the CSC's release. "The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA."

Catherine Crabb, an elementary education major, tallied a .279 batting average, driving in 16 runs while tallying 38 hits.

Pitcher Chloe Winters earned the distinction as a kinesiology major. The junior ended the year with a 12-5 record with two saves. Her 1.88 earned run average was tops for the Lady Lions, while placing her in third place in the Mid-South Conference.
