FHU learns opening round opponents

HENDERSON, Tenn. — With the release of the brackets for the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship Opening Rounds presented by Ballogy, the (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions and the No. 21 Freed-Hardeman Lions received their seeing for the big dance and learned their opponents.

The Lady Lions, punching their ticket by way of being the Mid-South Conference tournament champions, will travel to Dubuque, Iowa, after drawing the No. 7 seed of the Duer Quadrant of the bracket.

Their hosts, the quadrant's No. 2 seed are the Clarke (Iowa) University Pride. Also joining The Lady Lions are the Northwestern (Iowa) College Raiders, and the IU-Northeast Redhawks.

Freed-Hardeman will take on the No. 10 seed Northwestern squad who qualified for the tournament with a 19-10 overall record while going 14-8 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference to earn an at-large bid.
