Freed-Hardeman well represented with national academic awards

HENDERSON, Tenn. — With the release of the 2021-22 NAIA-Daktronics Academic Awards, the Freed-Hardeman University Lions and Lady Lions were, unsurprisingly, highly represented. All 14 competing varsity programs were awarded the team award. In order to be eligible, the program must have a combined GPA from all student-athletes of at least 3.00 in the fall and spring semesters of 2021-22.
In addition to the team awards, 67 individuals were named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes, with four student-athletes earning the distinction in multiple disciplines. In order to be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have completed two entire calendar years at their institution as incoming freshmen, or one full calendar year as a transfer while maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or better.
"What an amazing accomplishment by our athletic department, coaches, staff, and student-athletes." Said FHU Director of Athletics Jonathan Estes. "We are proud of an amazing group of student-athletes that display outstanding character, are leaders across campus, and truly exemplify what excellence looks like."
