50 student-athletes honored as NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes

Over the last few weeks, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 2023 NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for competing spring sports. Freed-Hardeman University had 50 student-athletes chosen across baseball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field.

Lady Lions extend season with two-run win

With the No. 3 seed Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions needing to win three games on Wednesday to make a return trip to Columbus, Georgia, the hosts took game one over the No. 2 seed Ottawa (Kan.) University Braves 2-0.

FHU sees season conclude with 10-inning nailbiter

Trailing the entire contest, the No. 3 seed Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions battled back with a three-run seventh inning to force extra innings. Ultimately, a single and a walk in the top of the 10th inning saw the top-seeded Central Methodist (Mo.) University Eagles hoist the Opening Round Champions trophy with a 6-4 final score.

Lady Lions unable to surmount big inning

30 minutes after winning their first game of the day, the No. 1 seed Central Methodist (Mo.) University Eagles unleashed a six-run second inning to punch their ticket to the regional final with a 9-1 victory over the hosting No. 3 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions in six innings.

On the first day of the 2023 NAIA Softball Nation Championship, the No. 3 seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University Lady Lions and the No. 2 seed Ottawa (Kan.) University Braves in a game with action at the beginning at the end before FHU claimed a 5-4 victory in the seventh inning.

Despite plating two runs in the top of the first, the No. 21 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions lost Friday morning's meeting with the No. 19 Campbellsville (Ky.) University Tigers 6-5.

For the second time today, the No. 21 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions lost to the Tigers. First to the No. 19 Tigers of Campbellsville (Ky.) University Tigers before bowing out of the Mid-South Conference Tournament with a 12-4 loss in six innings to the Tigers of Georgetown (Ky.) College.

Playing in their first game of the 2023 Mid-South Conference Tournament, the No. 21 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions spotted the Thomas More (Ky.) University Saints four runs before plating seven in the final two innings to seal an 8-4 victory Thursday afternoon.

Entering the top of the seventh inning with a 5-1 lead, the No. 14 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions hoped to even up the series with the No. 23 Campbellsville (Ky.) University Tigers. The visitors put up five runs to stun FHU in a 6-5 defeat.

Seniors sent off with regular-season finale victory

Putting the day's first game's defeat out of their minds, the No. 14 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions bounced back to top the No. 23 Campbellsville (Ky.) University Tigers 6-3 after celebrating seniors Catherine Crabb, Anna Kate Norton, and Brittany Adair, in addition to field manager Hayden Jarrell.

In the final leg before the Mid-South Conference Tournament, the No. 14 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions lined up against the No. 23 Campbellsville (Ky.) University Tigers. An early start by the visitors proved too much to overcome with the Lady Lions falling 8-3.
