FHU sees season conclude in Kansas City

The No. 5-seeded Freed-Hardeman University lions went cold in the waning minutes of their NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Presented by Ballogy round of 16 game against No. 1-seeded Grace (Ind.) College Lancers. In the last 10 minutes of play, FHU was 4-15 from the field while the Lancers pounded the paint to end FHU's season with an 86-67 loss.

Lions climb back to best Grenadiers

The (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lions found themselves trailing the No. 3 seed Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers from 6:33 of the first half until a late push helped the Lions reclaim the lead at 6:33 of the second half. The Lions' seven 3-point FGs and going 16-24 from the free-throw line saw the hosts stamp their name in the regional final.

For the third time this season, the No. 21 Freed-Hardeman University Lions lined up across the court from the No. 8 Georgetown (Ky.) College Tigers. After splitting the regular season series, the largest time the big cats faced off was in Monday's Mid-South Conference Championship Final. Despite trailing by 16 points at the break, FHU clawed their way to their first MSC Champion banner with a 69-68 win.

Scurlock's double-double leads Lions to MSC final

Hunter Scurlock was the model of perfection for the No. 21 Freed-Hardeman University Lions in Sunday's Mid-South Conference Semifinal. The senior was 8-8 from the field while grabbing 11 rebounds to help the Lions defeat the No. 24 Thomas More (Ky.) University Saints 72-61.

A desperation 3-pointer from the hosting Bethel (Tenn.) University Wildcats forced overtime in Saturday's matinee contest against the No. 14 Freed-Hardeman University Lions. After both squads posted 14 points in overtime, a second was necessary, where the Lions had two players foul out to see the Lions lose their fourth game in five tries with a 95-88 final score.

Buzzer-beater stuns Lions in loss

After Hunter Scurlock's layup tied Saturday's matinee matchup between the No. 14 Freed-Hardeman University Lions and the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriots, FHU needed a defensive stop to force overtime. The defense clamped down, but a 3-pointer from UC's JJ Ramey as the horn sounded stunned the Lions in an 82-79 defeat.

Timely buckets lead Lions to victory over Tigers

A clash of conference heavyweights was on display Thursday night with the No. 14 Freed-Hardeman University Lions hosting the No. 10 Georgetown (Ky.) College Tigers. With both teams atop the Mid-South Conference standings, the Lions would need to avenge their loss to the Tigers on January 7 to claim the top spot on the Mid-South standings. FHU took their vengeance on the Tigers with a 72-56 victory in a low-scoring battle.

The (RV) Shawnee State (Ohio) University Bears bucketed 10 3-pointers while tallying 18 second-chance points to hand No. 8 Freed-Hardeman University's Lions a 76-66 defeat.
