CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — A flurry of goals in the final minutes of the opening half stunned the Freed-Hardeman Lions, who fell to the hosting Campbellsville (Ky.) University Tigers 5-0 in Kentucky.

For the first 31:34, Freed-Hardeman (4-8-1, 0-7-1 MSC) held first on the defensive end, with Omer Shifris keeping out one attempt, two others being blocked by the FHU backfield, and one dinging off of the post. The Tigers eventually struck gold when Sebastiano Musu netted the opening goal at 31:34.

Campbellsville (6-4-1, 4-3-1 MSC) would then net goals within moments of each other when Marc Boye's goal at 34:20 was answered by Yuso Kojima's score at 35:47. The hosting Tigers outshot the Lions 19-1 in the opening frame, with Avery Flener getting off the lone attempt for the maroon and grey.

Another set of goals for Campbellsville, first by Guillermo Ferreiro at 55:49 and then at 81:35 by Lico Lanari closed the door on the Lions to hear the final whistle blow with a final score of 5-0.

FHU managed four shots in the match, one from Avery Flener, and three from the boot of Alex Marchal.

Both Omer Shifris and Nicolas Bastos saw minutes between the pipes, with Shifris taking the loss despite five saves, while Bastos kept out one save in 12:58 of work.
