CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — After drawing the No. 10 seed in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference tournament, the Freed-Hardeman Lions faced off with No. 7 seed Thomas More (Ky.) University in the Bluegrass State. Both teams' respective defenses kept the other side from open looks at the net, combining for eight shots on goal. Ultimately, it was the hosting Saints who found the net three times to end Freed-Hardeman's season with a 3-0 final score.

The Lions (4-10-1) fell behind early when the first shot of the match was saved by Omer Shifris, but a rebound was toed in by Matthaus Buechner at 3:52. A fast start from Thomas More (10-5-2) saw the hosts go up by two at 7:55, when Julien van Egmond tallied the second goal of the match.

From there, the FHU defense clamped down, not allowing a shot on goal for the remainder of the opening half and most of the second.

The Lions came out strong in the second half, tallying 11 shots in the frame, with Joao Pedro sending three toward the Thomas More net. FHU's lone shot on goal from Rodrigo Tostado Escarrega was saved by TMU's keeper before Nathan Ortiz wrapped up the scoring with the Saints' third goal at 73:46.

From the seven shots on goal, Shifris knocked out four saves.
