HENDERSON, Tenn. — Showing off the first half of their name of "student-athlete," four Freed-Hardeman Lion soccer players were honored as Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference team.

By maintaining a minimum 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale across three terms or four quarters, Sean Janiec, Jack O'Riordan, Joao Pedro, and Omer Shifris earned their spot on the academic team.

Arguably the most prestigious award given has nothing to do with on-field statistics, but with displaying the NAIA's five core values of respect, integrity, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership, each team's coach nominates one player to be named as a Champion of Character. Senior Drew Caldwell earned the accolade for the FHU Lions.
