ECS midfielder signs with Lion soccer

CORDOVA, Tenn. — Jay Smith has signed to play his collegiate soccer at Freed-Hardeman University according to head coach Jason Elliott.  The midfielder from Evangelical Christian School will look to impact the Lions this fall.  With their senior season still ongoing Smith is leading his team to another good season as team captain.

Smith won the 2019 TSSAA State Championship while playing for ECS.  Last season he was named all-region as he scored 11 goals and dished out eight assists.  "We are thrilled to have Jay coming to play for us this fall," said Coach Elliott. "He is a talented midfielder who knows the game and moves the ball very well.  His skill on the ball, quickness, and vision should enable him to help our team."
