Lion tennis opens season with perfection

HENDERSON, Tenn. — The Freed-Hardeman University Lions swept all 15 sets they competed in against the Dragons of Lane (Tenn.) College, taking the 7-0 match victory.

The first FHU Lion (1-0) duo was Merlin Bolema and Maxime Guyon, who won their first doubles match of the season 6-0. Guyon would continue to the top singles draw, where he bested the Lane competition 6-0 in both sets.

Caden Arnold and Nolan Laduree opened their campaign with a 6-0 doubles win before Laudree would earn a singles point with a pair of 6-0 wins.

Brayden Martin and Braden Young wrapped up the doubles draws with a 6-0 win. Both Young and Martin would go on to win their singles matches 6-0, 6-0.

Grant Turner and Theo Devals' singles matches ended in 6-0 victories to complete the big day on the court for the Lions.

FHU will travel to Columbus, Mississippi, where they await the Mississippi University for Women on Friday, February 24, getting started at 10:30 a.m.
