FHU Track and Field teams honored with USTFCCCA All-Academic Award

NEW ORLEANS — Freed-Hardeman University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams showed that their talent extends beyond the track, but into the classroom by being selected as a 2023 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's All-Academic team.

This marks the second consecutive year that the FHU men have earned the award, while the women's program also earns the distinction for the second straight year.

According to the USTFCCCA, the selection is me if "the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's eligibility certificate for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track & Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either Faculty Rep or Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office."

The Lady Lions posted a 3.47, with the Lions maintaining a 3.21 GPA.
