FHU Cross Country Completes Regular Season at St. Louis Fall Classic

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Freed-Hardeman Cross Country teams concluded the 2018 regular season on a positive note Saturday at the St. Louis Fall Classic, as Tyler Alverson took home a first place individual finish while Tristan Ray secured medalist honors.

The Lions secured a sixth place team finish in the event among 13 teams in the field, led by Alverson, who clocked a time of 25:46 in the 8K race to finish in first place among 110 runners. The first place finish for Alverson marks the second time this season he has finished ahead of the pack, the other coming at the Freed Speed Open on September 22nd.

Sophomore Tristan Ray was next to cross the finish line for the Lions, as he finished in 17th place with a time of 27:28. Eight runners for the men's team set personal best times in the event.

On the women's side, three runners also set personal best times, led by Brooke Simpson, who finished the 5K race with a time of 21:57. The Freed-Hardeman women's team finished in 10th place out of 12 teams in the event.

UP NEXT: The Freed-Hardeman Cross Country teams are back in action Friday, November 2nd for the American Midwest Conference Championships held in Elsah, Ill.
