FHU cross country competes in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — The Freed-Hardeman Lions averaged 28:20.4 to take third place as a team at the St. Louis Fall Classic Cross Country Invitational hosted by the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.) on Saturday.

Senior Matthew Ray led the Lions by placing fifth individually with a time of 27:06.13 in the day's 8k race. Nathan Mangrum's 27:50.86 had him finish in 12th place, while freshman Blake Brown's time of 28:12.13 put him in 14th place.

Freshman Eliza Poe paced the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions in the St. Louis Fall Classic Invitational hosted by the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.) on Saturday. Finishing in the top 10 for the second time this season, Poe's 19:54.60 landed her in sixth place.

Zena Dorris finished in 12th place individually with a time of 20:27.65, while Megan Lampley's 21:21.54 saw the freshman finish in 22nd place. As a team, the Lady Lions averaged  22:19.87 in the 5k race, finishing in fifth place.
