Bio

Derrick Spradlin enters his eleventh season with the Lion and Lady Lion cross country teams. In addition to his coaching duties at FHU, Spradlin is also an Assistant Professor of English in the Communication and Literature Department.

This past season under the direction of Spradlin, the cross country teams produced 12 American Midwest Conference Scholar Athletes, which requires athletes to maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Spradlin is a 1996 graduate of David Lipscomb University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He added a Master of Arts degree in 1999 from Middle Tennessee State University and received a Ph.D from Auburn University in 2005.

Spradlin has been married to his wife Jenci for 21 years.
