CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — After dropping a close contest to the No. 1 Thomas More (Ky.) University Saints in their first meeting, the (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions fell 79-51 at TMU's Connor Convocation Center Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Lions (17-9, 11-9 MSC) saw three players tally points in the first quarter, with Rachel Satterly's 3-pointer joining layups from Kelsey Bender and Elli Chumley. On the other end, the hosting Saints bucketed four long balls to jump ahead 20-7.

While Thomas More (24-1, 18-1 MSC) continued to shoot well, the Lady Lions drove into the lane in the second frame, scoring 10 of their 12 points in the paint. Rees Berkey and KJ White wrote their names in the scorebook with four and six points in the quarter, respectively. A last-minute 3-pointer from TMU ended the first half with the Lady Lions trailing 34-19.

The Saints continued their hot shooting from long range in the third quarter, bucketing back-to-back triples to start the second half. White's 3-pointer helped the Lady Lion cause at the start of the quarter, with Bender hitting a pair to end the frame. Moving into the final quarter, the Lady Lions were behind 66-33.

FHU found themselves at the free-throw line a majority of the final quarter, tallying eight points from the charity stripe. Morgan Quick's 3-pointer with 46 ticks remaining was the final field goal for the ladies in maroon and white, closing the book on a 79-51 contest.

The Saints went 14-36 from long range, while the Lady Lions were 5-17.

KJ White led the Lady Lion offense, going 6-13 from the floor to lift her total to 14 points. Kelsey Bender followed with a 10-point effort.
