Satterly First Team All-MSC, White chosen to Second Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Mid-South Conference 2022-23 Women's Basketball Awards were announced on Thursday.

Campbellsville's (Ky.) Kaitlynn Wilks was named the MSC Player of the Year while Cumberland's (Tenn.) Keara Sexton is the Randy Vernon Defensive Player of the Year. Pikeville's Allie Stone earned MSC Freshman of the Year honors.

Campbellsville's Ginger High Colvin was voted the MSC Coach of the Year by her peers while Pikeville's (Ky.) Shelby Wheeler was named the MSC Assistant Coach of the Year.

Wilks started in all 28 games for the Tigers averaging 16.2 points per game. She shot 66.3 percent (187-282) from the field and averaged 5.5 rebounds per game. Wilks scored 20 or more points seven times this season and had a high of 24. She led the conference in field goal percentage and ranked fourth in the MSC in scoring. Wilks' 66.3 percent shooting also ranks second in the NAIA.

Sexton leads the Phoenix in steals with 33 and is averaging 1.2 steals per game. She has blocked six shots. Sexton ranks fourth on the team averaging 8.2 points per game and she also averages 2.6 rebounds per game.

In her freshman campaign, Stone has played in all 28 games making 21 starts. Stone is second on the Bears averaging 13.6 points per game. She is shooting 48 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc. Stone's 46.7 percent shooting from three ranks third in the NAIA.

Colvin earns Coach of the Year honors for the sixth time. She led the Tigers to a 27-1 overall record and a 21-1 MSC record and the regular season championship. Campbellsville is currently ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll.

Wheeler helped lead Pikeville to a 22-6 overall record and a 16-6 mark in conference play while earning the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament.

Twelve players were named to first and second teams with an additional six players earning honorable mention honors.
