Lady Lions in third after first round

WEST POINT, Miss. -  The women's golf team competed in the first round of the Blue Mountain Golf Classic today at the Old Waverly Golf Course. The team shot 350 and sits in a solo third place. 

Junior Bailey Gilbert led the way for the team shooting 83 (+11). This puts her in a tie for 9th place. Next was sophomore Riya Key with an 87 (+15), placing her in solo 16th. Junior Sara Browning and sophomore Reagan Malone came in with a pair of 90s (+18). Rounding out the team score was freshman Makenzie Wilson with a 93 (+21). 

The Lady Lions are in third place, 11 strokes behind Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) University and 8 strokes ahead of Brescia (Ky.) University. The final round will begin at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.
