HENDERSON, Tenn. — Momentum was rolling with the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions as they hosted the Georgetown (Ky.) Tigers in a Saturday matinee clash until play was postponed at 39:45 due to lightning being detected in the area. After the break, Georgetown came back strong to claim victory 3-1.

Both Freed-Hardeman (5-8-1, 1-6-0 MSC) and Georgetown tested the opposition's goalies with a shot and save for both teams. After back-and-forth play in the midfield, Sara Becerra found her way to the right side of Georgetown's keeper where she centered a pass toward Zoe Stom, who promptly netted her fifth goal of the season at 16:23 to give the Lady Lions the lead.

After clearing the field at 39:45, the teams returned after 30 minutes to resume the final five minutes of the half showing Freed-Hardeman leading 1-0. In the first half, Georgetown (5-6-2, 2-4-0 MSC) sent three shots toward Brook Latham, who stopped the only two on target. Across the pitch, GC's goalie kept out three of FHU's four shots on goal.

Not long after the whistle blew to begin the second period, the Tigers netted the equalizer after Kylie Hudgins took a rebound and scored the second-chance goal at 48:20. Neither team budged for the next half hour until Georgtown's Madie Sparks took her own rebound and netted what would be the game-winner at 80:14. The Tigers would put the game out of reach of the Lady Lions in the 86th minute when a corner kick found its target in the box to score the third and final goal.

The Lady Lions out-shot the opposition 19-13, with 12 of their 19 shots being on goal. Sara Becerra and Zoe Stom gave the Tigers fits, firing off seven and six shots, respectively. In the net, Brooke Latham kept out five saves.
