FHU falls in regular season finale

MCKENZIE, Tenn. — Traveling up the road to McKenzie on Tuesday, April 11, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions competed against the Bethel (Tenn.) University Wildcats, where the Lady Lions fell 6-1.

Despite Hannah Pearce and Delfina Rodriguez-Molina picking up a 6-4 victory for the Lady Lions (4-9, 2-8 MSC) on the No. 3 doubles court, the Wildcats picked up the doubles point. Julianna Alves and Michelle Lancaster dropped the first match of the day 6-1, while Morgan Brown and Elise Kruzan fell by the same 6-1 score.

The lone point for the Lady Lions came on the No. 6 court where Pearce topped her Bethel (8-9, 4-6 MSC) opponent 6-2, 6-4. Kruzan took the first set to a tiebreaker but ultimately lost 7-6 (7-2), and 6-0. Alves also took her opponent to a tiebreak in the first set, losing 7-6 (10-8), 6-4. Lancaster fell on the No. 1 court 6-1, 6-0 and Rodrigez-Molina was swept 6-0, 6-0. Morgan Brown lost both sets to her Wildcat opponent 6-4, 6-4.
