Bio

Derrick Spradlin enters his ninth season with the Lion and Lady Lion cross country teams and third season as the head coach of the men's and women's track and field teams. In addition to his coaching duties at FHU, Spradlin is also an Assistant Professor of English in the Communication and Literature Department.

Spradlin is a 1996 graduate of David Lipscomb University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He added a Master of Arts degree in 1999 from Middle Tennessee State University and later added a Ph.D from Auburn University in 2005. Spradlin has been married to his wife Jenci for 21 years.
