Creek Wood's Bowers joins Lady Lions

CHARLOTTE, Tenn. — Putting pen to paper to join the 2023-24 Lady Lion volleyball squad on Wednesday was Creek Wood High School's Katie Bowers.

In her senior year, the 5-7 outside hitter was the recipient of several accolades, including making the All-District 12 team, the All-Mid-State second team, and the All-State team. Additionally, she was named the Region Six MVP. In 2022, Bowers helped lead her team to the 2AA State Championship, the first for the Red Hawks, after which she was honored as the state MVP.

"I am blessed and honored to say that I will be joining the FHU volleyball program," said Bowers. "I can't wait to make new memories with new friends and to also grow as a volleyball player. Go Lions!"

Coach Amanda Cunningham is excited to add the allrounder, saying, "Katie is a versatile player who will be a great asset to our team in all six rotations."
