Lions Kick Off Spring Season in Georgia

BRUNSWICK, Ga. - The Freed-Hardeman golf team kicked off the 2023 spring season at the Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational. The Lions played 36 holes today with a first-round score of 339 and improved in the second round with a score of 320. 

Leading the way for the Lions were junior Tyler Rhodes and senior Bowman Blocker both firing a combined 164. Rhodes shot a first-round 84 (+12) and a second-round 80 (+8), with Blocker shooting 85 (+13) followed by 79 (+7). Next was junior EJ Hill, shooting 85 (+13) and 78 (+6) for a total of 167. One stroke behind him with a total of 168 was junior Austin Warren with a first-round 85 (+13) and second-round 83 (+11). Rounding out the team's totals were senior Wes Graham, shooting 85 (+13) and 89 (+17) to give him a 174 total. 

The Lions are currently in 16th place, 14 strokes behind Brewton-Parker (Ga.) College. The third round will begin at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow.
