Blocker Champion of Character, among seven Academic All-MSC

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The 2023 Mid-South Conference Men's Golf Champions of Character Team has been released, conference officials announced on Friday.


The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.


Bethel's (Tenn.) Zac Douglas, Campbellsville's (Ky.) Seth Bohl, Cumberland's (Tenn.) Christian Lindgreen, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Gustav Barden, Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.)Bowman Blocker, Georgetown's (Ky.) Heath Petty, Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Jarrett Napier, Pikeville's (Ky.) Broc Crist, Shawnee State's (Ohio) Austin Barta, Tennessee Southern's Jaxon Rose, Thomas More's (Ky.) Ben Eppplen and Wilberforce's (Ohio) Patrick Rukundo were all honored with the recognition.

A total of 52 Mid-South Conference men's golf student-athletes earned Academic All-Conference honors, the conference office announced on Friday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must be in their third term or fourth quarter.

Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and Tennessee Southern each led the MSC with seven honorees apiece. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) had the second-most honorees with six.
