BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — For the second time today, the No. 21 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions lost to the Tigers. First to the No. 19 Tigers of Campbellsville (Ky.) University Tigers before bowing out of the Mid-South Conference Tournament with a 12-4 loss in six innings to the Tigers of Georgetown (Ky.) College.
The first two innings went well for the No. 3 seed Lady Lions (25-12) with Sophie Dunavant smacking her year's third homer before FHU added another run in the bottom of the second inning when Catherine Crabb was driven home by sister Madelyn Crabb's single.
Holding the No. 4 seed, the Georgetown (13-11) Tigers answered back with a four-spot in the top of the third to take a 4-3 lead with one of their six doubles.
Karli Quillin was able to reach second in the bottom of the fourth with an errant throw before Dunavant knotted up the game 4-4 with an RBI single.
